Hello, I am new to the real estate investing scene. I am looking for a mentor and/or job/ internship in this area. I have one home under my belt and am looking to get into this as a career. What I need to know is the best way to network and find good people to work with. Are the Investment clubs a good way to go, check out local real esate agents, get a license? I would like to hear how some people have started because I do not have the financial backing to do this on my own. Thank you for your time.

I worked with agents when I started and bought rentals off MLS. A the time, Austin was in a downturn and it was a buyer’s market. I didn’t buy courses. I read books on the top Amazon lists and went the rental route because it seemed like a good time in the market.

I think local investment clubs are a great way to go. I know many investors who would be happy to have you find deals for them. You may also be able to find people who have the funds but not the time to coordinate the effort.

Investment clubs are probably your best bet. Reading books can help and are a good start, but it doesn’t compare to tailored advice from a person.
