Need Some Advice

Hi everyone!

I’m 16 years old and have recently had an interest in real estate. There are really no schools nearby or classes I could take in high school that help me with gaining any knowledge of real estate. I’m actually intersted in the area of buying and refurbishing homes and then selling them. Do any of you have any books or resources in mind that I could use to help me?

Thanks

Check out books by Peter Conti and David Finkel. Also, you should read Robert Kiyosaki’s “Rich Dad, Poor Dad.” It’s good that you are starting at a young age.

The most important thing that you can do now is save some money and protect your credit.

You may want to partner with someone initially to “lead” you through the process. This will allow you to prepare both financially and intellectually.

Do not be afraid to ask questions on the site.

We have all said it…If only I knew then what I know now…

Good Luck! 8)

Your credit rating is going to open doors for you in the future. Get it established asap. Once you have it establisihed, nurture it, care for it and it will reward you. Real esate investing has much to do with fianancial responsibility and it’s good to see you are starting at an early age. If you can find a mentor in your area or become involved in the home improvement biz it will help you gain valuable knowledge that you can apply to your future deals. Good luck!

16 and thinking of your future like this already. I predict you WILL succeed in life ;D

I agree with the credit issue-VERY IMPORTANT
Keep it clean and fall into the habit of NEVER being late on anything.

Get any info you can on real estate. Go to your local library. There you will find a lot of free reading. You can read through my blog below. It goes more into detail on how we did it. It all started from library books and a will to succeed.

Once you do start the most important issue will be TO DO IT!

Good luck in your future

Thanks for the help guys.

I just read a book recently that backed up what you guys were saying about credit rating. Regarding mentors I’ve sent an email to a lot of the agents in my area and two of them have scheduled dates to talk with me.

Feels great
