Narrowing down the choices

I did some research on 25 books that I found at B&N that I felt could help me in my start in real estate investing. Well last night I narrowed them down to my first book purchase. 209 FAST SPARE TIME WAYS TO BUILD ZERO CASH INTO 7 FIGURES A YEAR IN REAL ESTATE, by Tyler G. Hicks. It’s a great book so far and I am getting some great information from it but it seems to be geared to owned properties to be rented so as to create a good positive cash flow 6 months to a year down the road.

I found that what I want is fast turn over like flipping. He discusses that people who are truely wealthy, have a continue’d source of income like owning property that produces positive cash flow every month.

I just want enough money to do what I want it life. Nothing more, nothing less. The career that I’m going to school for is my dream. NO amount of money in the world could pull me away from it, not even the world itself on a silver platter holds a candle to the value of my dreams.

I want enough money to support myself and lifestyle while I attend school. Once school is out, real estate might fade of into the distance for me, maybe not. But it won’t be the primary source of income.

Does anyone know a good source where I can get some info on flipping properties like foreclosures, auctioned property, fixer uppers, etc., etc.,. Maybe a good couse, book(s), or a website geared to my interests.

Here is a little story I think is great that may help, the lesson being there is nothing better than some hands on experience.

At the grocery store a few days ago my wife met a lady looking for a 13 by 9 inch pan to make her first brownies. The book called for this size in the receipt. She was all flustered as he could not find the pan marked 13 by 9. My wife politely reached up and got a pan and said this one will do just fine. The lady looked at it and said that it is only 12.8 by 8.9. She still had to be reassured that the pan would hold the brownie mix and be ok to use.

I told this a few days ago in another post, maybe i will get tired of telling it or go on a world tour but I think it sums up how some newbies over do the education thing. Do not get me wrong education is great but even too much love leads to 5 children or more.
