I would like some investors view on this subject: Should the word “Investors” be included in a company name? As in, for example… ABC Property Investors. The realtor we work with said not to include that in the name because potential buyers might think we are only out for money. Thus, passing us by and looking for another company to deal with that they think will be more into their needs. We can’t make a repoire if we don’t get to talk. If anyone could help me out and give me your imput I would appreciate it.
It depends on what what kind of seller you’re wanting to attract. When a seller types in a search term, what is the search term that you want your web page to show up under?
Are you wanting to attract sellers that have all the time in the world to make up their minds, and weigh your offer against every other buyer, or what?
Or maybe you’re wanting to attract the buyers that are out of options, and want to sell yesterday; write with crayons; and don’t care that you’re gonna strip their equity like a Chicago pimp?
Adjust your domain name to reflect the keywords you expect your prospects to enter into a search bar.

If you don’t mind me asking, how is your domain name set up. I personally like stating that we are investors but just want to do the right thing. I’ve read a lot of your posts/replies and you seem very informative. How long have you been at this?
I’ve been at this since I was eight.
My partner came up with webuyandleasehousesfast.com as a result of a keyword search. Frankly, we would do better with, "sellyourhousefast.com., or "leaseyourhousefast.com. Even more focused keywords would would have included the town we’re prospecting in.
Meantime, the reason for the keyword-based url is that sellers don’t google, “I want to find an investor to buy my house.” However, they are much more likely to type in, “I want to sell my house fast” So our SEO revolves around the keyword our best prospects will use to find a buyer, or figure out how to sell their house.
So, ask yourself, “Who cares that we’re investors?”
Answer: Nobody cares.
Meantime, ‘investors’ are scary, suspicious, bottom-feeders, that are out to steal my house," as far as the average, unsophisticated seller is concerned.
So, drop the ‘investor’ deal. It’s a non-starter. Unless you’re doing deals near me, than please by all means, mention and advertise that you’re a professional investor with all sorts of years of experience …with gobs of money …flashy cars, and photos of your vacation home in Palm Springs. :beer :biggrin
Wow! So you’ve been at this a couple days, huh? Thanks for the info. That’s good to know about the URL, thanks again… Should “investors” be written on my business card? Or use a generic form of the business… as in"properties"?
Do you take on “students”?
Put on your cards whatever represents the most common benefit to sellers you offer. Do you close fast? Buy burn outs? Close on seller’s schedules? Take over loans? I like wild headlines with supporting bullet points, like a mini-sales page.
Don’t obsess over this, however. Just get some cards made with your name and phone number and something memorable printed on it. Humor works. So do pictures of woman. It’s not time to be the shy, wilting flower, on your business cards. You want them remembered. Meantime, you can make money, or you can be respectable. After you’ve made your money, it’s amazing how much people will respect you.
Meantime, you want sellers to call you on the phone, not go to a website. I don’t even want people emailing me. Requiring someone to dial my number, probably sifts 85% of the not-ready-to-pull-the-trigger types that will waste my time, and make me spend air-time educating.
Otherwise, I happen to like the folded hundred dollar bill style business cards (that are quite expensive), from http://dropcards.co/
There’s a bunch of suppliers of cards like this.
Then start handing them out like you got paid a buck every time you got rid of one of them.
Here’s some inspiration:
Outstanding…caught my eye. Thanks for all the info. Sure you’re not up for “students”? lol Thanks again for being so helpful. Mind If I call on you again with more of my questions/scenario’s?
