Well, I finished my first eviction in Texas, and the tenant moved out. Except for “normal stuff”, such as dirty carpet, etc - the apartment was in excellent condition.
BUT…when I was changing the locks today… I found he had discharged a bullet through the stove in the kitchen! %%@!! Can you say … someone lost their deposit?
Better the stove than the landlord!!!
I guess that’s his way of saying, “don’t mess with Texas”
Did it nick a gas pipe? An electrical wire? Are there MORE bullets inside the stove that could go off when it gets hot?

If they do go off it would be more a nuisance than a danger, but his point is a very good one. I would look for booby traps.
That is awesome. What kind of round was it?
The bullet went through the front & back of the metal stove door, and got lodged in the back of the stove. It still worked!
But I threw the stove out and replaced it with one from an apartment complex that was remodeling some units. My replacement cost? $25. Man I love Craigslist.
The bullet is lodged somewhere inside the stove and I’m not taking it apart, so I couldn’t tell you. LOL! The hole is rather large - thicker than a 45 caliber bullet shell - but I bet the hole is actually larger than the bullet itself since it went in at an angle and kind of shredded the metal.
