MUD SLIDE PROPERTY

HI THERE THANK YOU FOR YOUR REPLY AND YOUR PATIENCE WITH MY SPELLING.AS A BUILDER , A FEW YEARS AGO I BOUGHT A HILLSIDE BUILDING LOT
THAT HAS SINCE HAD A MUD SLIDE AS WELL AS MY NEIGHBOR.
HOW CAN I MAKE LEMONADE.RECOOP MY LOSS.IM STILL PAYING HOME OWNERS ASSOCIATION FEES.I OWN THE LOT OUTRIGHT. JR.

I don’t know where the lot is located, but I know that in California, the houses slide down the hill and people just rebuild in the same spot, over and over.

I don’t know if they are too dumb to figure it out, or they just don’t care.

I’d have a soils engineer take a look and see if he thinks your lot can be glued down to the spot. If he thinks it can be fixed, either get the next door neighbor to split with you, or else see if he will give you his lot for taking over the HOA obligation.

There’s a lot can be done with unstable soil with retianing walls and vegetation with big root systems.
