Move In Date

I tried to search the forums, but could not find the specific info.

The situation I have is a new tenant asking for the keys prior to their move-in date on August 1st to have the phone company, cable company, etc. visit. Generally speaking I know the answer to this…NO, but I am wondering how flexible I should be?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Sign a new lease for a couple days earlier. Pro-rate the rent.
There is no reason that the cable & phone should be an emergency requiring them to get the keys early.
