I have contract that i recieved from a lawyer and i want modified it…
For example it says Escrow is going held at Seller’s attorney office…
i want take out Seller’s and type in Buyer’s attorney office, can i do that? I dont want to get sued or get in trouble if i change the contract so i want to find can that be done…
A contract can be changed if both parties agree to it. If they sent you the contract, then change it, initial the change, sign it and send it back to them and point out the changes and have them initial the chamges. It is a lot easier this way than re-typing the whole contract each time something needs to be changed.
Well the blank contract i was talking about that is mines to keep. i wanted know since the contract was made by someone else can i change some words without any problem… i rather use ONE set contract for every deal i do, so if i have to retype the contract its ok with me because thats the contract im going to be using for all my deals …My whole thing is i want to present a contract to the seller without having to cross anything out.
Look on the contract to see if it is copywrite protected. If not then have at it and change anything you want. I would consider using the standard real estate commission contract that all Realtors must use. Plases like the title company and attorney are blenk and you just fill in who you want to use on each deal. These forms are everywhere and are easy to read. We may have already had this discussion but just use the standard form. Keep it simple
it dont say nothing about copywrite but on the last page it says Distributed by ABC Title insurance company, so i guess it shouldnt be no problem changing the contract…
