I am just starting in the short slaes process here in Mass. I just seen that Mass legislature, has passed a “freeze” on foreclosures. Originally it was 21 days before foreclosure was permanent. A law now states, that all homeowners in said forclosure, will have a “day in court” which could last as long as 6 months. I see pros and cons in this. It gives me more time to work with clients in a short sale deal, but also could lead to longer stays on properties I place in trusts.
Would anyone know if the 6 month freeze would likely affect my niche in this new business venture? Also, I would be safe to assume that the homeowner is still responsible for any and all payments during this 6 month process. Any help would be tremendously appreciated.
