Hi Guys.
I will apologize in advance if I am copying another topic, but I could not find it if I am.
I am interested in learning the best angles to approach attorneys in my area to introduce myself in hopes that they will think of me when their clients need to liquidate a property quickly.
I know that other do this, I know it works.
I just want to get some ideas as to how to approach them with out sounding like an idiot.
Ryan
Make sure that you can contact the attorney directly and not deal with his secretary. A lot of times the secretary is the guardian to the person you really want to talk to. If s/he thinks that you might be selling something, you won’t get through.
Find out the exact name of the attorney and send a letter/brochure in an envelope that looks like a thank you card or invitation. This might help you get past the guardian.
Second, in your brochure or letter, make sure that you touch on the benefits that they attorney can pass on to his client. Remember, his bar number is on the line as is the attorney/client privalege, so you want to communicate benefits to them…and not have your mail about you and your company.
Lastly, you cannot pay an attorney a “finder’s fee”. Instead, offer to pay the attorney’s fees for the client in lieu of them paying. The attorney gets paid, the clients are rid of a problem, and you get a great deal in the process. Everybody wins!
thanks, that’s good stuff.
Anyone know how often the laywers are hit up by other investors?
Or do you know any other ways to separate yourself from the pack?
I wanted to keep this discussion going to try to get more information.
Thanks.
