making contacts in a backwater

Hello all you intelligent people,

I have a problem. I live 90 miles from the nearest investment club (Henderson/Vegas area). I’m on the Colorado River, which has great properties which I know my as-yet-unmet buddies in Vegas would be interested in should I find them, but my trouble is my inability to get up there – 1 month old infant, 3 other kids, bad car, and starting graveyard shift again tomorrow night. Any suggestions as to how I can get in touch with people up there, or somewhere else, remotely? I have a cellphone without long distance charges, I have email. Is there an online place for bird dogs and investors to meet? Do the heads of investment clubs generally like bird dogs to email them with offers? (I can find the club contact info online; it’s just getting there that’s the problem. And it isn’t the club contact people I want, it’s the investors themselves.) I don’t doubt I can find the deals, though I’m just starting; it’s the flipping part that’s making me nervous. If I can’t find anyone to flip to, I’m up the creek without the proverbial paddle. Suggestions?

So I’ve just read the thread on making a buyers list, and it helps with some of my questions, but I’m still interested in finding a site where bird dogs and investors can meet up. Has anyone found such a thing?
