Magnets

I was recently at my Sister-in-Laws house down in virginia and I was looking at the pictures she had on her fridge. One of the pictures was held up by a “Save the Date” magnet that my wife and I sent out 2 years ago for our wedding last year. This got me thinking, are magnets a good way to market with? Would sending them to Absentee owners a good idea? has anyone tried this?

It depends on what you say on the magnet and if they would keep it. I’ve seen magnets used extremely well by realtors locally, but they provided value to entice the home owner to keep the magnet.

Use your own experience… What type of magnet you would more inclined to keep? Maybe one with a calendar - it would probably get thrown in the trash at the end of the year…

Or one with the bulk trash collection schedule for the neighborhood… Also would be trashed at the end of the year…

Or one with important phone numbers such as Police, Fire Station, local shools, local pharmacy, power company, etc…

Please remember to put your contact information there.

PS: you can print the card at home and attach the magnet tape to the back. It is a lot of work. But may be worth it…

Good luck!

Good Suggestion about the “important” contact numbers on it. Another reason I’d keep a magnet is if it was strong, i.e. hold up thick paper. I hate magnets that can barely hold themselves up let alone a piece a photo.

Things I’d like on a magnet…

-Pizza and Chinese place phone numbers. (maybe work out a cross promotional deal or something)
-Police, Fire department, Library…

What about teaming up with a local delivery place? Getting magnets made that are half your ad, and half their ad. You could have them distribute them with deliveries. I just thought of this because I am looking at a chinesee food magnet on my filing cabinet.

Anyone have a good site to get QUALITY magnets made?
