loss mitigation training

Hi
I am a loan agent, do I need to go to some institutes to learn how to do the loss mitigation deals or short sale? I though if I have the Nod listing the hardest part is to contact the home owners and get their auth. release. And to negotiate with lender is either to qualify the HO to the mitigation program or come up the reasonable price for short sale for those can not be qualified HOs?

is there any general guide line or forms for loss mitigation I can get it from?
