If I am making an offer through a listing agent do I have to pay that side of their commision? Or is the seller responsibe for the whole thing? Thanks.

Depends on the agreed upon terms of the sale.
More than likely the seller is responsible for the entire thing, rarely if ever will you run into a listed house that you are to pay the commission on. You are essentially paying the commission because sellers typically have a net price that they are willing to sell for and then they add the fees on top of that price to come up with the price for their home.
On a F.S.B.O definately dont sign anything with agents or you would have to pay their commission because they have no contract with the seller, so they try to get a contract with you.
