I noticed a topic about phone calls and the “do not call” list. That got me thinking about mailers. I was thinking of sending out some mailers, but I’m worried that something similar might exist for junk mail. Anyone have any problems sending out mailers?
I don’t think you will have too many problems with it. The only real issue I can see with it is the fact that post office workers may get lazy, and if they have to deliver a bag that is nothing but solicitations, they may just toss it to save time.
Aside from that, I think you shouldn’t run into any problems. Heck, I don’t know of anyone who doesn’t receive solicitations in the mail :).
I would also avoid stuffing the mailbox with your letter. In other words(and this may be obvious) don’t cheap out on the 41 cents to then drive by the home and place your envelope in the box. There is a fine for this kind of action.
I mail all the time. Between 5-10,000 pieces per month. I use mainly post cards and greeting cards. I will irritate some people that call and ask to be removed from list. We do.
I am in the direct mail marketing business for real estate investors. There is no law or anything similar to the “do not call” list for mail solicitation. Although with the Spam Filters and Telephone Do Not call lists in effect, I’m sure they’ll come up with something soon. So get your mail out NOW!
