If I buy a land at an auction in California. How would I know ahead of time how much the IRS tax lien is?

You check the records in the recorders office, if the amount is not filed don't buy the property!

It is possible to get IRS lien amount on a property that is NOT mine?
I just call the recorder’s office?

California conduct tax lien certificate sales and 18% interest. The redemption period is 2 to 3 years but is still dependent on the county. Competitive bidding is involved in the auction.
