Right now i’m considering purchasing a duplex under a land contract deal. I want to know if the contract is recorded and the seller is deliquent on some other debt, can the creditor that he owes place a lien on the property under the contract? And if so, what would i be able to do in a situation like that?
okay so let me get this straight if anybody can help me out here. i want to purchase a duplex under a land contract and i’m concerned about whether or not the seller will acquire any liens on the property. to my understanding, i’m learning that if i have the seller convey the property to a trust, then any liens that the seller acquires will not affect the property in the trust. does anybody know if this is correct?
I’m glad that you started your own post. I just wish that you hadn’t responded to every other post in this section with the same question.
It isn’t a bad question but it is annoying to have to read it 9 times. Also, you probably should have posted it in the Asset Protection, Contract Issues Forum for a better response.
P.S. Sorry I can’t help. I would like to see the responses to this.
