Laminate flooring in rentals?

Have a 3 year old starter home in Little Elm, Texas the tenant is moving out of. I am thinking of replacing all the carpet with laminate flooring, because laminate should far outlast carpet. Anyone had experience with laminate in rentals? Is there any reason some tenants would not want a whole house of it?

Thanks
Lyle,

My opinion is that it would be ugly. Laminate flooring belongs in the kitchen and bathroom and maybe a dining room here and there, depending on the situation. If I were to look at a house to rent and see that flooring everywhere I would probably start looking to see where else you tried to be cheap or save $$. I understand cost and saving a dime, but you can get carpet cheap too. Just my thoughts!!Good luck to you!!

Renters can be hard on carpet, therefore I buy cheap carpet that can be replaced often. Tile the floors in the bath and laminate in the kitchen should be fine but not everyone likes all hard floors. I left one bedroom hard wood and the rest berber carpet and tiled the bath room floor. If you have a dining room kitchen combination then laminate would be nice but carpet the living room.
Renters are hard on the floors when moving out, they tend to scrape walls and drag stuff on the floors. Kitchen floors take the most abuse so use good quality here.
