I wonder if any one has faced this problem? I have a home I’m trying to close on that the previous owner has a judgement lien from years back, the company went out of business and the title company can’t seem to find anyone to pay? Nor can I or the previous owner. We have searched for a month but no one is claiming the debt. I need to pay this to get clear title, and I’m running out of time. Any suggestions??
You need an action to quiet title or escrow enough funds to satisfy the lien.
How much is the lien? How old is the judgement? Is there a statute of limitations on judgement liens? Maybe the judgement has expired and it is no longer collectable.
