Issues with Handyman

Hello,good day
I am about to perform a rehab, and I considering hiring subcontractors for the major aspects of the rehabilitation project. For example, items such as the roof, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and foundation would probably be addressed better by a subcontractor than a handyman. For the other aspects of the rehab, I am considering to enlist the services of a handyman. I understand that if I desire to hire a handyman, the handyman must provide proof of insurance and license/certification.
Are there any other issues that I need to address or that I have excluded in regards to selecting a handyman? Suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Different parts of the country are different. Here in Texas you do not need a license to do most rehab work except plumbing, electrical, HVAC and even then you can do your own with a homeowners permit if you live in the home. Sounds like you have most of the bases covered. Get some references and even look at their work to see if it is the quality you want.
