I recently replace a piece of vinyl siding on my duplex and the color is the same but the new pice is a little darker because it has not faded. Is there any way to color this new piece or some way to recolor all of the vinyl to give it a fresh look? Thanks.
REIUSA,
The only way that I know to effectively recolor the vinyl is to let it sit in the sun and fade for a few years. (Not really an option). If the new vinyl is really bac, I would suggest that you take a piece off of the back of the building (where it does not show) to replace the piece that is damaged and use a new piece on the area the area in the back. If the new piece is not extremely different, then just leave it alone. It will look the same in a couple of years.

Is it faded or possibly dirty? Maybe a power washing would be fitting here? I have taken faded dirty crappy siding and power washed it and it looked brand new. :-*
The new pice is almost the same color it’s just a little bit darker, it doesn’t really look that bad at all like it is I ewould just prefere it to match totally but oh-well. It is on a piece that is out of site so that’s a good thing.
What kind of cleaner do you use to clean the vinyl off. I wanted to do that before the end of the year but haven’t yet. I have a 2800 PSI washer.
Strong enough power washer all you need is to get close. I rarely use cleaner.
Here’s a trick I use to clean vinyl siding.
Mix one cup of Clorox to one gallon of water. Add several drops (a good quirt) of liquid dishwashing detergent (like Dawn). Stir this concoction up and put it in a garden sprayer. Just spray it on the vinyl, let it sit for a few minutes, then rinse with water. Works great, and it’s cheap to boot! 8)
