Is everyone else here as tired of the word "socialist" as I am???

Then why not do something about it? Run for office. Work towards change. Instead you sound like a broken record. You want to complain about the system yet u do nothing to change it. Nothing is going to change until people start making the change.

Finally!!! Mike, was making a decent post with coherent points so hard? lol. I AM NOT A SOCIALIST SO STOP CALLING ME ONE!

Fine, I agree, but look how the free markets almost DESTROYED the economy. At least the gov is trying to do SOMETHING, this might be the first step to getting better regulation. But your view of making all the businesses fail would be death for the economy, so if the gov has to take over some aspects of business until those companies get their act together so better regulation comes along, I think that’s a better option than making the economy TANK.

Sorry to break it to you, but with all the greed of the free markets, and the governments attempting to fix it, the tax payers are going to be stuck with higher taxes. It sucks, but whether the gov helped or let the economy tank, taxes were going HIGHER ANYWAY. There was no good way out of this economic mess.

Socialism will go away when there’s decent regulation and businesses behave and stop being so unreasonably greedy and irresponsible. THEN they won’t be much need for the gov being so involved in finances. I really think making the economy tank was the worse of the 2 evils.

You say that you’re not a socialist, but all of your opinions say otherwise.

look how the free markets almost DESTROYED the economy.

Free markets did NOT almost destroy the market - but that is always what the socialists say. Why? Because they don’t like the free market system and are trying to “fundamentally change” it. What is destroying the economy is the over-regulation and manipulation of the markets by the government. For example, a LARGE part of the housing bubble and bust was caused by the government pressuring lenders to make loans to people who weren’t qualified. Furthermore, when businesses know they are “too big to fail”, that encourages them to make wreckless investments BECAUSE THEY CAN’T FAIL! A FREE MARKET would fix all those problems.

At least the gov is trying to do SOMETHING, this might be the first step to getting better regulation.

We don’t need “better” regulation - we need LESS regulation.

But your view of making all the businesses fail would be death for the economy,

I would not “make” businesses fail, I would ALLOW them to fail as a result of their poor performance. HUGE DIFFERENCE!

Socialism will go away when there's decent regulation and businesses behave and stop being so unreasonably greedy and irresponsible. THEN they won't be much need for the gov being so involved in finances.

Socialism will only go away via a revolution by the people (peaceful or otherwise). The government isn’t involved in “finances” because they need to be - the government is involved because they WANT MORE POWER!
