Hi Y’all. I’m a newbie at real estate investing and am thinking about getting a coach for my first deal. For those of you who tried Carlton Sheets Coaching, was it worth the money? How long did you purchase coaching support? Do you have other support that you found more helpful?
Save your money instead. Carlton is doing good with his infomercial generating big sales from his program. Now do the program really works? It would unfair for me to say that it doesn’t. I’m pretty sure that there are some folks who have been successful using his program.
But I bet you that there’s more who never had any luck with it. Buying a home with no down is really mostly hype.
Forget paying a mentor, that stuff is for the birds. Learn what you can here, other online resources, from books, from other investors in your area that will talk to you, etc then go out and DO IT. I would never pay for some person THAT DOESN’T EVEN INVEST to tell me how to invest. Most of these so-called mentors don’t even invest anymore, if investing was making them good money why did they switch to mentoring only? How do you know they even MADE MONEY DOING IT? I’ve heard a lot of people say they paid some high priced mentor and found themselves to be no better off when they finished and sometimes even more confused. Get your hands dirty and go out and do it.
Nation-wide mentors are designed to separate you from your money – sometimes lots of it. Your “mentor” will most likely be some young, poorly trained sales guy trained only to figure out how to separate you from even more of your money. How does a “mentor” in a boiler room in California have any idea about the market conditions and what works in your specific market? Answer: (S)he doesn’t!
Go to the local REI Club and find someone local/successful in your market to coach/assist you…
I bought the system and read abt 1/3 decided it was not for me. Returned for refund. It was too out of step in todays world for me. I have read other books and picked us some pointers from each and continue to read these post etc.
