If you are looking for a mentor in your area then you might want to post ads in the free online classified section of your city. For example, Craigslist, Backpages, Kijiji,…places like that. Or call the ones that are already up.
There is nothing wrong with wanting to link up with investors in your area for coffee or lunch, just know that they are competitive in some form or fashion. lol. Not every experienced investor likes to take the newbie investor under the wing. But that’s OK because they will call you once they start to see you are closing deals right along with them.
I wish you all the best in your real estate investing ventures. This market is hot for deals, just take some action and have a plan. You will do fine.

Appreciate the response. I understand it’s a very competitive field, but I’m sure there’s someone out there that will be willing to take me under their wing. They’ll benefit as well since they’ll have someone else on their team. I won’t be living in this area, but I can always learn the ropes and take what I learned to wherever I go. I do live 4 hours from here though, so it’s a plus if I learn this area well too. :smile
