What is a good amount to put for downpayment when investing out of state ?

I don’t see how the downpayment is affected by the property being in one state vs. another. Everything depends on the individual deal.


Agreed. Doesn’t matter which state since each property will need to be judged on it’s own merits. If your goal is cashflow without regard to out-of-pocket expense, sometimes you need more down.

Just assess your goals for the property and work with a lender to see which scenarios work best for your needs.
