When I call/meet with brokers, is there a set of questions that you recommend asking them besides whether they work with real estate investors on a regular basis?
Hi,
As a residential property investor it is likely your going to use an agent, you may land a meeting with a broker but unless your a huge fish your going to end up refered to one of his agents! Quite frankly I don't want a Broker to work with as I find it hard to train them as to what I seek in residential real estate!
Most brokers manage their agents and work with commercial investment or commercial leasing clients, you will very rarely find a licensed broker working to sell single family properties as a primary occupation! You will find that 8 or 9 of every 10 licensed agents have no experience working with investors, I generally don’t interview I actually want to meet an agent at one of their listings and let them tell me about real estate, I know in 5 or 10 minutes whether they have what it takes to work with for residential properties!
