Obama Health-Care Reform–That’s Called Fascism, Isn’t It?

May 12, 2009 (LPAC)-- As LaRouchePAC details irrefutably (http://www.larouchepac.com/node/10213 [1]), Peter Orszag and both of his leading deputies in the drive to “reform” health care through “comparative effectiveness research,” are at the same time advocates of the program of so-called euthanasia for which Nazis were punished in the Nuremberg Trials.

Lyndon LaRouche said, we’re trying to research the difference between Obama’s health care reform and what Hitler did, and we haven’t been able to find any.

President Obama and his “health-care team” met Monday morning with the “stakeholders.” You probably remember that this was always the final scene in the Frankenstein movie, in near-darkness, when smoke was streaming out of the ground, and the villagers appeared and ran about with their stakes in hand.

They included the HMOs, the AMA, the pharmaceutical companies and the unions. The basis for everything was the linear-projection school of Peter Orszag, who has done linear projections of the growth of health-care spending, and found that it will reach 49% of GDP in 2082. “That’s because they don’t do any production,” LaRouche quipped. On this basis, the “stakeholders” all agreed that they would cut back 1.5% from what would otherwise be the growth of their “costs” for each of the next ten years.

Obama announced that this would save $2 trillion, or $2,500 for every family. “He’s actually a commentator on the Tower of Babel,” LaRouche said. “He’s babbling. He will come to clear intentions at a later point. He now uses words; in the future, he may come to understand them.”

The HMOs promised to do their part in the cost-cutting using the exact same gimmicks which Orszag has proposed, such as “competitiveness research” to “modify behavior” so as to shut down medical high-technology and more effective, newer treatments as more “costly.” No wonder Peter Orszag and his top associates in “competitive effectiveness research” are at the same time leaders of the “right-to-die” movement.

“This is is fascism; that’s what it is,” LaRouche said. “Why not call it that?”

This completely sidesteps the real growth of costs: the issue of the thieving HMOs, the gang of parasites set up by Richard Nixon and Patrick “Benign Neglect” Moynihan in 1973. Now, overhead costs under U.S. private health insurance, so called, are up to 30-50% of all costs, as against 2% costs of administration for the government-run Medicare program. Are these the “costs” they are trying to cut? No,— it’s the very cost of life-saving medical treatments themselves!

The second issue they’re shoving under the carpet is the ripoff by the pharmaceutical companies.

The third issue is health infrastructure: Communities are struggling to keep a hospital, or other infrastructure, while they’re talking about all these so-called “reforms.”

Infrastructure is at an emergency level, as we’re threatened by pandemics, and they’re not addressing that at all. And the kind of cost-containment which is being pushed by Orszag and company, results, as they know it does, in continued shrinkage of the infrastructure. The Dartmouth Institute, which wrote Orszag’s lines, proposes precisely the relative shrinkage of infrastructure, proposing explicitly that numbers of hospital beds and imaging machines NOT be expanded to meet increasing needs.

"Call it the ‘Orzsag Useless Eaters Program for Health Care,’ LaRouche said. "That will ruffle feathers, but that’s what you have to do. If you go along with the double-talk, people will debate the double-talk. This is what Hitler did. This was Hitler’s health reform. There’s essentially no difference in principle between what Orszag is proposing, and Adolf Hitler did. And people will have to catch on to that before they die of old age at the age of 20 or something.

“It’s the Brave New World of Aldo Suxley.”

As the result of such “reforms,” there are now fewer mammography machines in the U.S. than in 2006. Fewer mammograms are being performed than in 2006, even while the population which needs them has increased for various reasons, even beyond general population growth. “We’re going to do a whole report on this,” LaRouche said. "This is the Orszag genocide policy, taken faithfully out of the manuals of Adolf Hitler. There’s essentially no difference between what Orszag is proposing and what Hitler did.

“This is a cutback in the fight against breast cancer!” LaRouche concluded. “Obviously, this all-male bunch of suckers, the Behavioral Economists, doesn’t understand women’s concerns. It’s true! That’s essentially what it is! They don’t give a damn; they’re fascists! And. we just have to call them fascists. That’ll cause more screaming, but that’s good.”

Ugh… :banghead

Maybe when we’re ALL suffering,I mean true suffering, not just this myth of “the last eight years”(like we don’t have a memory!!!)then and only then when its out for the masses to see, maybe they’ll say"hey this is’nt what I thought the “change” meant. What a mess.

When you’ve got PositiveOutlook at a loss for words you know the post is preposterous. I mean comparing Obama to Hitler…seriously? really? This one is waaaaaaaaay out there.

The writer of this article assumes that the reader has extensive knowledge of history. Not many do, myself included. If you do a little research by simply reading the articles linked you’ll find that his ideas are not as crazy as an uneducated person might think.

Lyndon Larouche…Seriously??? :bs

bama,

Maybe we need to give the current administration a chance. It has been a little over 100 days. I mean look what we put up with for 8 years.

christopher,
The current administration will likely be a continuance of the last and the one before that. One only needs to look at the people surrounding Obama to know that. To educate yourself, try researching Lyndon LaRouches’ sources before you dismiss him. Also, read “Economic Facts and Falacies” by Thomas Sowell.

I am a far right conservative republican that supports health care. Wow, doesn’t sound like the conservatives on the radio, does it? Actually, I agree with most of what they say but have to draw the line here. I support health care for everyone as I am pro life. Not just pro life for babies but for adults as well.

I don’t think that someone should have something catastrophic happen to them and have to choose between death and financial ruin. With those two choices in mind, they have to choose financial ruin.

I am not saying health care for someone who has the sniffles. I am saying major medical with a relatively high deductible. High enough to encourage people to not use it unless it is absolutely necessary. Low enough to allow someone to pay off this debt within a year or two and be back on their feet without a tarnished credit rating or a lifetime of debt.

Those who want to see the doctor for minor issues can pay for it out of their pocket. When negotiating with a doctor, I have found rates significantly drop if it is mentioned that you are paying cash. A $75 dollar 5 minute consultation quickly turns into a $40 consultation.

I am going to let you in on a couple of things you may not be aware of as being issues within the health care industry. This is insider information that I am aware of and that I have not heard a word of from the mainstream media.

My father was a vice president of The Travelers Financial Services prior to their breaking up. Back when they were one of the largest insurance companies in the United States. He told me a couple of very interesting stories about the industry.

His first month or so that he was on the job, he was meeting with top executives of many of the other largest insurance companies in the country and the topic came up of raising premiums by a certain percentage. The insurance companies all agreed together to do so.

At this point he was afraid from what just happened. My dad was previously the VP of RJ Reynolds / Nabisco and if something like that ever happened he knew that he would be sent straight to prison for price fixing or collusion. So… upon returning to The Travelers he immediately reported to the president and said I can’t believe what just happened, they were all talking about raising prices and now I am going to end up going to jail. The president of Travelers laughed and informed him that there legally is an exception for insurance companies and this is perfectly legal for him to do so within the industry.

This was quite shocking information to my dad and when he told me about it I too was surprised that the government would allow this.

A couple years down the road the insurance giants were going head to head with the all mighty American Medical Association. The AMA has some sort of book. It’s kind of like a guideline of what is acceptable to pay. Got the sniffles and insurance companies must pay __ dollars. Got a broken arm and it will cost insurance companies ___ dollars. Well, the AMA decided to increase prices across the board to the insurance companies. The insurance giants were outraged at this and got together to decide how to handle this. They were fully aware that the AMA was controlling the supply and demand of doctors in the United States so they decided that they would threaten exposure and let the cat out of the bag.

They came back to the AMA with a response that if they even think about raising the prices they will drop the ball on how the AMA was only allowing a certain number of doctors graduate per year. Just enough to account for population increase and death of doctors. This tight control of the supply and demand is what has allowed health care prices to go through the roof and medical doctors to get paid 3 to 4 times the amount that doctors and highly educated people of other fields get paid. Even the doctors that simply treat people with the sniffles are flush with cash after a short term of paying off medical school due to this monopoly that the AMA has created.

They also promised that they will make sure that with the breaking of the news they will ensure that thousands upon thousands of highly qualified doctors get imported from India to the United States which will in-turn create an atmosphere of competition, and prices will drop regardless of what the AMA does due to the change in supply and demand.

Upon the receipt of this counter threat, the AMA quickly decided against raising prices to insurance companies and the issue was resolved.

Our health care system is broken. Broken in a huge way. It is broken due to non-regulation. I am not saying that we need government-controlled health care. I am saying that we need regulation in this industry. It is broken because the government has allowed a monopoly with the AMA and allowed collusion among insurance companies. Sure, there are many other reasons why it is broken. These are two glaring examples which have caused the American people to feel that even Government controlled health care would be better than what we have now. And it would be. When the government doesn’t enforce the laws we already have in place, or give special privileges to particular industries, things get broken and it makes it seem that the only option is more government control.

Regardless of the situation, people need health care and the system needs to be fixed. Health care costs are through the roof in all areas, from pharmaceuticals to hospitals, from insurance to doctors themselves. No one should face a financial ruin or death decision due to a catastrophic health problem. Lets get this problem fixed. Those who are profiting to a massive degree will go down kicking and screaming all the way and that is to be expected. “Plants” will be hired by the profiteers to appear on the media giving reasons why this is a bad idea. A campaign will be kicked off likely using scare tactics, etc. Regardless of what happens, we need to push through major medical for the people.

Christopher,
So you mean agree with what this adminstration is doing by"chance" right?I can’t change it so you must. Its the same careless(except @faster rate)spending that bush done.I have no problem supporting the helpless, just not the hopeless.Obama seems to blame everything on capitalism. There is some greed and scandal to blame.I just can’t understand this big govt theory at all.Did you see that the income tax revenue is way,way short they just posted?A debt that is 4 times last years?I’m no math genious but I know when you’re taking in less you can’t spend more, simple as that.So on that note, how does expanding govt get paid?Raising taxes right?Yea,I’m happy with my position on not supporting this,it has only been 5mths,give it as long as you like,it’s simple really cut govt spending and cut corporate taxes(since those are the evil job providers)and give them incintive to produce more=more hiring=economy recovery.
