What are some of the different approaches to finding properties that are run down, (besides driving around, asking mailmen, and hiring birddogs)? Anyone here have any great ideas they are using that has brought them success?

Sometimes the city inspector will have a list of them at city hall.

The city also records liens on these properties if they have to mow the lawn because of the high grass or board up houses. These liens can be seen at the registry of deeds at city hall.

The key is to have a follow up system to maintain contact with the owners.
