Over the weekend, in an attempt to sell one of my properties, I put a bandit sign up in one of the most heavily traffic areas I know of: “I will buy you a $25,000 CAR, if you buy my house!” I also put the same add on craigslist. You want to know how many people called?

It was an investor. He wasn’t interested in the car… :shocked
When he said that, I offered him the house for $50,000 less than what I owed; over 15% off of what I owe. He kinda mumbled a few things and said he would research it and get back to me…

Oh, I did get another person to call yesterday. So, the sign did last for at least 3 days.
He was a car dealer and told me that he could get me a good deal on that car if I needed to…

maybe it’s the way the sign came across. when i read this post, it seemed to come off as desperate. it also crossed my mind that the home could be marked up $25k more than the asking price.
maybe a little more info would have been helpful or different verbage.
maybe:
“sell my home and receive $25k new car”
“free car with home purchase”
“great home. 70% below market. $xxx.xxk. recieve $25k car for FREE with purchase”
“2 for 1 deal: + free car”
maybe those woudl have been better? some marketing gurus on here could come up with some nifty stuff

Yes, obviously the home is priced enough that I will be able to buy the car and not be out the full $25,000. However, at the price I am selling, I still will have to come out of pocket a few thousand of my own $$'s to get the car. But, the house will be gone.
Unfortunately with this house, there isn’t even a 90% below market without the bank taking a discount.
I do wish that I could hold a weekend open-house showing. However, working on evicting the current non-paying tenants. Bleh. Back to that Weeeeeeeeee!
