I fell short of my goal.
2014 was the best year of my life financially. But I had a goal of making 100K I didn’t quite get there, but got closer than I ever thought I would.
Maybe that’s my problem, I never really believed I could do it.
But, I have started 2015 with 7 deals in escrow that will pay over 40 Grand.
So, for this year I have set my goal at Triple what I made in 2014. And this time I truly believe I can do it.
I sometimes get down on myself for not being farther along. Then I reflect on where I was just 2 short years ago. The difference is amazing, all because I was up late one night watching TV and worried about how I was going to support my family and on comes this nerdy guy named Dean Graziosi with a message about making it in Real Estate, and I actually believed I could do it.
It’s a great feeling to have nice vehicles all paid for, we’ve actually been rehabbing our home, got money in the bank and to be able to help my family is really gratifying.
If I had to boil down what it was specifically that got me going and to succeed, I think it was because I always believed I could do it, even after multiple setbacks and lost deals, staying focused and determined. Man it was difficult and going many months, scraping penny’s. Several times I wanted to quit, but I got angry and more determined and then I wud have 3 deals close in rapid succession.
That is my big lesson, never quit, never give up.
Best of luck to all the Investors and wealth to all.

All the elements of success summed up there, Randy…
Great post.
I hear ya. I’ve always had an entrepreneurial drive. It started as a kid when I was cutting grass. Did well with that, but then tried other things over the years to have my own business (stuff like Amway and the like).
Those other things were mostly failures. I was determined Real Estate was going to be the thing that I succeeded at. I never thought that I was just going to try it and see if it worked out. It WAS going to work out.
Well, here we are now. Our business is coming up on its eight yr anniversary. My wife and I have built a portfolio many people will never achieve. We’re still small fish compared to others of course. It’s not been easy and it definitely hasn’t been without sacrifice. I plan things on paper, but then reality has a vote and sometimes we don’t meet our goals but we still move in the right direction. Sometimes it takes too long to fix up a house or fill a vacancy…but overall the business still moves in a positive direction.
I have goals of building a small neighborhood of nice family homes to rent as well as purchasing an apartment complex or storage facility. We’re not there yet, but we’re working toward it. Like you, we never gave up and toughed it out. I pray for our business every day…pray for the family first and then the business and it has been blessed accordingly.
Take time to celebrate your successes.
Congrats on falling short.
Most people dont even get the chance to fall short. They never try.
what market are you in?.
Hey Cruiz, I’m over here in Central California. Where u at? Lot’s of great deals here, the properties are cheap, I have 11 deals in escrow now, If only half of them close I’ll be poopin in high cotton. If close to all of them close it will be more than 2 years salary. I used to do Construction.
I have set my goal to triple my last years profits. Looks like I’m off to a great start.
whaaaat :shocked your in central California with 11 deals? that’s awesome.
I’m in Southern California, specifically San Diego.
Where abouts in central cali you in?. That’s really good considering wholesaling is crazy competitive here in San Diego.
Hey Cruiz,
I’m over here in the Central Valley, Fresno. I avoid the coastal areas the prices are too high.
But I heard you can still wholesale those areas, it’s just the numbers are different.
I recently told a Realtor to find me houses under 50K She chuckled and said there are no more houses for under $50,000. I said Oh Really? I just flipped 20 this year and all were under 50K I enjoyed Dean and Matts broadcast.
You must have some lower income areas in a 20 mile radius were your at.
hey randy are you doing any marketing out there like direct mail??
Love your posts and glad you’re doing well financially, Rando. Hope you hit your goal for 2015. Posts like this make it a little easier to press on when things are dragging! Thank you!
Hi guys!
Congrats on your success! I’m new at this as well and honestly I’m looking for training and someone to show me how. Anyone willing to share secrets? Or go in on deals together? I’m willing to do a high split, I’m just looking for someone to teach me. Specifically wholesaling, judgement liens, and assignment deals… Let me know!
