Bought a great LazyBoy leather recliner at a storage unit sale for $25. Cleaned it with Dove Soap, an internet tip, as the former owner had been a smoker.
But the chair continues to exude smoke odor. Guests sit in it for a few minutes, and then move to another seat.
Any tips on how to get the odor out of smoked leather?

Pull all cushions apart, serious vacuum all crevices, Febreze it, and let it and all cushions sit out in the sun for a few days.
jmd_forest,
Thanks, we will try the Febreeze and sunshine. Otherwise I was just going to tell the tenant, “This chair is made of specially smoked leather–it gives it a rugged ambiance.” Maybe they would fall for it.

I loved that line. I almost did a spit-take when I read it; made my day.
The best way is to use an ozone generator. Of course, they are very dangerous and you just can’t go out and rent one. You’ll have to hire a cleaning professional who will put your chair in a sealed room with the ozone generator. Supposedly it works really well to take out most smells from furniture. I was calling around to Indianapolis carpet cleaners the other day to see if they can ozone some of my clothes that have smoke damage.
