Does anyone know what to use to remove paint from a tub? I purchased a rental and the tubs have been painted over with what looks to be oil based paint.
I’ve tried scraping and paint remover thus far.

Maybe you could have it resurfaced? It TX a tub costs $125, they will make it look new. (You would have to continue to resurface the tub after each resident)
you can get it at Wal-Mart for around $9.00. It’s the best stuff out there for tub work, all the professional refinishers use it.
I appreciate your comments. I will be looking in Walmart tomorrow and if that doesn’t work I’ll check prices for the refinishing. Thanks.
Didn’t find Dads stripper. I will search other stores.
I’m sure someone has it, if not…just look for any stripper that will remove epoxy and acrylic.
I finally located some today from a mom and pop store. I will use it this weekend and let you know how it goes.
Good Luck…wear a mask/respirator and make sure you’ve ventilated the area as much as you can! Otherwise we might not hear from you Monday!

Futureereilegend,
Dad’s works great. I just sprayed and it started peeling. I couldn’t believe how easy it was.
Thank you so much,

Good for you – looks like you survived it!
