I attended a class by Robyn thompson and off all my questions I asked her I forgot this question.
She mention what makes her so successful in selling her houses is because she will send a Eblast to the realtors in her area along with sending a Voicemail.
Here’s the thing, ALL realtors have access to the list of other realtors, but what about the non Realtors. How are we supose to get hold of that type of list.
I found a couple of database company that says for about $130 or so you can get name, email, phone and i’m wondering if anyone use them for that reason and are they current.
I found this concept to be a good thing to do, it’s good knowing that all RE will know about your home, so this will make your chances of selling your house a little better because of the chance of having more RE with buyers.
I would really rather just get it from a Realtor in PA, but the realtors I know, they are to greedy and would think i’m making it harder for them by putting the rest of the RE who might not have paid attention to the MLS before.
PS: If there’s any RE in PA/NJ/DE if you have access to the list, please PM me so we can talk off line.
Every real estate agent I know has their telephone number and email address on their website or on the website of the agency they work for.
Here in my area of SC, the area association of realtors has a website with a search feature. I can search for real estate agents in Myrtle Beach SC and get a list of all the participating real estate agencies, their phone numbers, and a link to the agency’s website.
Would not be to hard for me to compile an email distribution list and a group fax list for every agent registered with the realtors association.
Just browse the real estate agency websites in your area and harvest the info you need.
Build your own list. Bet you could have a fairly long list with just an afternoon’s work.
Dave you’re right, but I was always thought I should spend my time looking for deals than spending my time doing the grunt work, So I didn’t even put that in my mind. I figured if I can pay a realtor for the list or get it from a database company for under $200. That would save me alot of time, but just incase I get neg feedback on those databse companies and I can’t find a realtor to give me a list, then I might as well start compiling it the old fashion way…
My other question is this, she said by being able to pull the MLS listings herself for whatever area she’s looking for, she can find who the top 2+ selling realtors are.
How would you go about getting that type of info? I don’t trust to many referrals for realtors because everyone thinks their realtor is the best, but the only way to know that is for me to see some #'s I’m trying to find realtors who are selling 40-50+ houses a year
Comps may tell you which agency has the listing, but may not be able to tell you which agent from that agency has the listing. The level of specificity varies by MLS region. Just don’t expect too much from the MLS.
Instead, drive through the neighborhood you are interested in and copy down the name of the agent/agency from each for sale sign you see. I suspect you will find that one or two agencies dominate the neighborhood, then call those agencies and ask who the listing agent is for each property.
If you define a successful agent as the one who is the top producer for his agency, then just call the dominate listing agencies in your farm area and ask for the current “producer of the year”.
In spite of all your efforts, this may not be what you are really looking for. In a large metropolitan area, an agent only sells his own listing about 5% of the time. This means that 95% of the time, a property is sold because another agent brought a buyer to the settlement table.
