HOW to get RID of satelitte dish problem

Hi there! I am a landlord and new to the game and also new to this forum. I have taken control of my families investment property which is a multistory apartment building with about 40 units. I am not happy with DISH NETWORK at all! I have been away for 2 years and an old tenant has been in charge, in that time we have had DN install around 15 individual satelitte dishes on the railings of my building as well as 3 on my roof. The ones on the railings have to go! I am sick of seeing them and the loose cables everytime I come home. Is there anyway to get this company to legally stop trashing my building and to force them to put the units on the roof, possibly on 1 HD and 1 regular satelitte dish running a switch or splitters? Thanks alot for the advice.

  YES YES YES

message me and we will talk as i was a few years back a site sup. for a satellite company and there is something you can do!!!

Do not know about rewiring the dishes but you can place them on a roof and have each one running to the right persons apartment, but it would cost money and the cable co is not doing that for free.

I would recommend that you notify all tennats that satelite dishes are no longer allowed out in viewing site and must be on the roof of the building or placed on the patio if you have one in a way that the structure of the building is not damaged (means bolted to the building). Let them know that you have secured a contract with a local contractor (go do this) who can move there satelite dish for Xamount of dollars. Let them know that since they currently have them, they will remain but once the lease is up for renewal, there new lease will have the new terms about the dish as it is making the building unattractive and the wires are posing a problem.
This way your lease with each current tennant will get changed and all new tennants will have to abide by the new lease you make.

Also if you like, maybe risky but you can check with local code enforcement to see if there is a violation. If they say there is a code violation, you will be well in your legal rights to have all dishes removed and they will not fine you till after 30 days or maybe 60 since they need to give you time to fix the problem.

Dish Network has stands that they will put inside the patio area. We also charge $100 deposit, and they have to show proof of renters insurance.

I got a reply from those things over at Dish Network and they told me that it is my problem, well in our lease it says that no one shall alter their apartment without consent of the owner, so I have decided to begin taking down all of these dishes and the tenants will just have to deal. No more dish network unless they have someone come out and install them on the roof and no more cables draped over the sides of my building or i will pull that crap right down. The rodents told me that I could pay to install an MDU fixture but that I would have to pay to install and pay for the unit so I guess that means that they will be losing many customers in the coming days.

Dish Network usually needs a letter from the Landlord. You have to be kind of careful, because you may lose residents. May want to ask for a supervisor at DN. At a luxury property, we had residents use nice flower pots, and had them poor cement to hold thier dish.
