If I don’t use an attorney for attorney review, how exactly are changes made? In the New Jersey contract it states that you are not allowed to edit or change the contract. However, what happens if the end buyer uses an attorney? Do they submit their changes to me and then I can submit changes back (even though the contract states that you cannot make changes without attorney)? I know many people here don’t use attorneys so I was just curious. Any clarification would be appreciated.
I would get an attorney to review the changes if the other party has an attorney. Don’t bring a knife to a gun fight. Personally, I wouldn’t make any changes to a standard contract without an attorney. Just because the two parties agree to the changes doesn’t make them enforceable.
