How do I get access to the MLS without being an agent? Is their some secret method that I am unaware of?
Not really. You just have to become a Realtor, or have a Realtor share his MLS password with you. An alternative is have a Realtor do the comps for you but he will expect something in return.
mls access is by membership. mls database is created and maintained by Association of Realtors in a given area.
If you go to www.realtor.com you can get access to the basic, “headline” information from the MLS in most areas of the country. This is also a good (though not perfect) place to get Comps.
