I got a call from a homeowner that is in default about 7 months. Back in March '06, the investor told the homeowner that he will be doing a short sale. The investor did everything that is required of a short sale. He got the packet, BPO, and made the homeowner sign misc contracts. One of them being the purchase agreement. Well the homeowner has left numerous messages for the investor and the investor has not returned any calls. This is going on 3 months or so, they approach me about selling their house but concerned about the investor. I asked the homeowner if he contacted the lender(s) and supposedly nothing is happening. What do I need to know or do to help the homeowner out so that I can try and do a short sale?
