Greetings From Afghanistan. A few question please.

Allow me to introduce myself. I am a Dept of Defense contractor in Kandahar Afghanistan. I am living in this war zone so I can save me some cash so I can pursue my dream of Real Estate. Pay is not so great, when I quit I will only have enough money to live off of for 2 years and put 1 grand a month to put into advertising.

I do not want to get into the same boat as my father; He has been in this game for a few years and not done very well. To much effort has been made on looking into the future. Spend 20,000 on a propertywith repairs only get 2,000 down and $250.00 profit of rent, does not make much since to me. Now he got laid off from his career, my mom got laid off as well, and he is throwing luggage at the airport. You can only look to the future, when you are secure in the present.

Anyway, I would like some advice on what you recommend, Any and all profits will go back into the Business for the first 2 years. As I have everything paid off that I own and need. Would Flipping be the best option for me to get started?

What do you recommend, I have done plenty of Bird Dogging in the past and credit or financing to get loans to fix the properties and retail them will not be a problem.

Give me any advice you may have please. I plan to return to the USA about 6 months before summer break happens for the kids, as I believe that is the best time to purchase houses.

When I return to the USA, I was planning on returning to Houston TX, and farming the far northeast area of which I am accustomed to. It has had a steady growth for as long as I can recall. Also there will be some new road development in the town to the north of me, and some changes in the Liquor laws which I believe will spark new growth, i.e. Restaurants, etc if that has not already begun.
