being new I’m only vaguely familiar w/ this…?

I have a friend of a friend who ownes rental houses and “some government entity” pays for the rehab of these houses, through grants, then they also subsidize the rent he charges as long as he rents to low-income families…I think this is a Section-8 housing program…?

Is there anyone who can tell me where I can find out more about these type of programs?

Check with your local housing commission. I used to rent on section 8. They can be quite pqrticular about rental home conditions, sometimes to the point of stupidity.
They require a annual inspection of the property. Other than that, I had no problems with it.

I’m checking w/ them tomorrow. I want to make sure that if I buy a home sec. 8 is viable. I’m looking at a quadplex for sale in a characteristically low income neighborhood and figured given the nature of the area, sec. 8 may be a viable cause.

I’m curious, does anybody know if HUD contributes grant monies to rehab properties if they can validate that the property is going to be appropiated for section 8???
