allagash,
Interesting…but body language does not translate across all cultures. So they are creating for the American market alone, I imagine.
A shake of the head means “NO” here, but a nod of the head is “NO” in Turkey. I remember that from my traveling days when I was trying to communicate:
“YOU SPEAK ENGLISH?”
NOD.
“GOOD, I WANT TO CHANGE SOME MONEY”.
NOD, NOD.
“UHHH…YOU SPEAK ENGLISH?”
NOD.
“TRAVELLER’S CHECKS?”
NOD, NOD, NOD!
There are going to be some funny stories with cross-cultural emails! Better not use the “thumbs up” motion for GOOD, WELL-DONE --you may get punched out IF you are not in the United States. Or you just insulted your foreign business recipient on your new Google email time-saver.

Good one! You got me!
It seemed logical AND nonsensical both. Bet someone goes ahead and develops that application. It would be a great service for the handicapped.
