I have lately been very drawn to copy writing and have been reading and listening to some of the material. I was particularly impressed by Joe Vitale’s Hypnotic Writing book and Gary Halber’s Baron Letters. I have also read and listened to some of Dan Kennedy’s products.
For those of you who understand the value of copy writing and have read or listened to them, who did you think worth learning from?
I know it is little vague question, but I am very interested in the topic and trying to find more resources.
Michael Fortin, gave me some tips on a retail product sales site I am involved with and his comments were outstanding. I feel confident in saying that creative investing copy would be well within his abilities.
I checked his website out, and it doesn’t look like he has prepackaged products to sell. He is mainly a consultant so I would have to hire him to do projects. Is that your experience as well?
Yes, this is what I gathered from reading what is on his site.
The way I was introduced to him was through a friend of mine who asked him to critique the web site I referred to.
To tell the truth his critique was right on target as he pointed out areas that needed adjustment, which I did. I found that what related to improve this site was very beneficial.
I noticed there were some ideas from others in the Blog’s and articles that made sense.
It’s Gary Halbert (God rest his soul) and Michel Fortin is considered the best in class as it relates to internet copywriting while Dan Kennedy is considered the guru of DM.
Others I would add to your short list include (but not limited to):
Clayton Makepeace
John Carlton
Gary Bencivenga
I’ve been a freelance copywriter/marketing consultant for funzies for years, and you can’t go wrong with any of these chaps…
Thanks… I love reading Gary Halbert’s newsletters and his baron letters, but can’t find any of his material for sale. I will look into the others, I have heard of some of them, but never purchased their material. I will look into them
A good source for getting specific work - (name your price) is http://www.Elance.com.
You can look at samples of their copy and if you see someone’s work that tickles your fancy, you can ask them to bid in addition to an open bid process. Of course – there is a lot of chaff too :bobble. I have contracted several projects through this site - everything from programming to ebooks and have been satisfied with the work.
