I’m trying to help my neighbor get his house back. His property was foreclosed, went up for auction, but now is in REO with Wamu because it was not sold at the auction (this just happaned 4 days ago). My neighbor was in Germany for about 6 months dealing with a family emergency. His son was supposed to make the payments, but only did so “when he felt like it”. I called the trustee of the auction and was able to find out the reinstatement was about $18,000. My neighbor is in no financial trouble and has more than enough just sitting in his savings account. I was hoping to get some advice before calling Wamu. I’m a wholesale rep and not very familiar with foreclosure proceedings. If it makes a difference, the property is in California.
Have your neighbor write a strong hardship letter and call WAMU they are very easy going there the if it did not sale at the Auction this is not to hard to get done.
