I contacted my first FSBO and I asked them what their loan balance was so that I can get an idea of their ARV minus their loan for equity. They asked me why I wanted to know that and I didn’t know what to say. Long story short, I didn’t buy the house.
Can anyone help me with what kind of questions I can ask FSBO’s and if I asked the loan balance question ok?
you can ask them anything you want, but you might want to do it with a little “finesse” so they don’t realize they just gave you information that may not be in their best interest for you to have. if they were represented by a well qualified agent, that question would not be answered unless for some reason it was in fact in their best interest. fsbos are great because they usually want to talk so much they give their life story to the potential buyer who can then form a purchase strategy.
