foreclosure question

I’ve been watching a vacant property in my parents neighborhood. I’ve done some research on it an learned that owner of the house was foreclosed on and the property was never sold at the auction. It’s been vacant for about a year now. I believe the property is an REO but it has not been listed by an agent yet. When I look at the tax record I noticed that its owned by the VA. if you were me what would you do in this situation? Is it possible to buy this property now or do i have to wait until its listed agent?

REKING… You ould always write up a contract and fax it to them they might have a Realtor call you or they might catch on and list it. If you go to the county website you can find out who owns the property for sure. Then lookup the phone number and call them. What do you have to lose its only 15 mintues of your time.

My guess is that if it’s owned by the VA, there’s not much you can do. Having bought properties from HUD, I know that they can sit vacant for some time before being listed, but one year is really surprising.
