I read on one of mike’s signs $2000 moving money to forclosure. I assumed this was for the seller to move with. Is this true or is it actually for the buyer? Can I advertise giving money to people in forcelosure here in Florida? Thanks all.
Don’t quote me on this, but I’m pretty sure it’s illegal to give $$$ to someone who’s house you’re doing a short sale on. After all, you’re getting their lender to take a loss to get them out from the mortgage that hasn’t been paid. That being said, I’ve heard of people buying other property from the homeowner in this situation (so do up a bill of sale for the refrigerator or washing machine, as these are personal property not real estate… Chances are, they’re not gonna take the fridge with them, so who’s to say you can’t give them some money for that? Get it on paper though to cover your ass just in case!)
I’m not a lawyer and what I said is just what I’ve heard people do, so check with your attorney first if you’re worried about staying 100% legal!
