can anyone tell me if there are truly free foreclosure lists, and if not, which ones are worth paying for. also if anyone can give me some basic short sale strategies, i’d appreciate it.

I’m from Mass. & here we have a news paper called bankers & tradesman, They are published weekly & new member price for the year is $199.
It has everything in the state going on as well as a official records section wich publishes all of the states bankrutcies, preforclosure & forclosure records, as well as all sales for the state, all in one easy to read paper. You can also access the info online when you subsribe. I don’t know if there is a publication like this in your area, I can’t belive mass would be the only one.
