I was wondering, where is the best place to find property records online? I’d like to not pay alot of money for the service either, but at the same time I want reliable and complete records of property ownership. I know I can go down to the courthouse but I’d like to see if I can accomplish the same thing online first. Also, can RE agents access this info for me quickly?
Thanks,
Brian

All this is free Public Records. Your courthouse or County Clerk should have this online. Look for parcel data, property info, tax records etc.
This online service can be confusing, but you’ll get used to it. Herbster
Yes Herbster is correct…Im in NY, and our site is NYC.gov, and you type in property in the search and you either need to know the address and/or the Block and Lot #…We also have a program called ACRIS that shows home ownership, deed transfers and mortgages, so I dont know if every state has this program, but you can surely go to your cities gov site and poke around for info…
have you tried NetrOnline.com?
You can also get Semi-Up to date records using Zillow.com…
Though don’t use those records to comp out houses since in many markets prices are going backwards.
This can really be easy. What I do is find out what county the property is in. Let’s assume ‘Humboldt county’. Go to a Google search bar and type in ‘Humboldt County Assessor’ and that is normally where they keep the county’s property records you can search by address.
Some places like Fulton County GA even have a photograph of the property!
All the best,
