Can anyone tell me how can I find the owners of an abandoned property? I checked the county tax office and found that their mailing address is the same as the abandoned property. I sent a letter of intent to some of the owners, in hopes of the letter being forwarded to the new mailing address or returned to me with the new address on the envelope. With my luck, all I got was return to sender. I also tried to use a reverse directory, and again no luck. Is there anyone out there that has been having luck finding the owners of abandoned property? If so, may you please share your methods? Thanks
hi,
try using a skip tracer. im at work and cant think of one, but google skip tracer and im sure a few will pop up. most charge .15 to .25 per name.
The post office might be some help. Find out if there is a forwarding address. Hopefully someone is paying the tax bill on the property otherwise it won’t be pretty.
It looks like you have tried quite a bit to find the owners but haven’t had much luck. I am sorry to hear. Do your best and if you can’t find the owners then find a new property. You wouldn’t want to spend a lot of time and effort on one property that just doesn’t seem to work.
Good Luck,
Brandon
You can also check with your city/county building inspectors. If there were any building permits filed for this property, there would be the name of the owner. It’s a super-sluethy way to go about it but if you’re not finding results, that will help you.
Most charge what?
I think you might have to move the decimal places to the right a few spots. 15 cents a name? Where are you getting that from? hmm
