Finding a Seller: Is this a dead end?

I had a skip trace done on a property & the owner 13 years ago and no relatives were found, even though taxes are just one year delinquent. What happens to the house in this situation? Do the taxes just go delinquent until a tax sale & there’s no other alternatives?

If the owner dies and there are no heirs or the owner can’t/won/t pay the taxes, yes tax foreclosure is on its way. You could pay the taxes for years…depending on your state and file for adverse possesion or quite title. Could be a long journey…and profitable, or costly. Darin
