I would like to file for a LLC for my real estate business out here in Nevada. I recently emailed a CPA on how much he charged for this service.
Here is his response:
“Our firm charges $1,000 to for your LLC, apply for the tax ID number, register with the NV Department of Taxation and any other license you may need. You are then responsible for all other fees for filing. Generally there is an initial $250 fee to the NV Secretary of State and then after the LLC is registered you have to pay the state of NV $100 for a business license and $125 to the Secretary of State to register the members of the LLC. All in you are looking at $1,475.”
Can someone please tell me if this is a reasonable price or should i look elsewhere, and if so where? ???
To compare, I charge $200 over the state fees. for that I provide:
The LLC
Articles of Organization
Taxpayer ID number
Operating Agreement
tax elections as you desire

Nevada filing fee for LLC is $75. He’s screwing you there. Initial member list is $125.
“Business license”? DBA’s are filed at the county level, not the secretary of state. don’t know what he’s talking about here.
So, that’s about…uhm…ahh…carry the one… $1,075 too high in my opinion.
Also note that your state of residence and/or lenders may require you to register in your home state in order to do business/banking/ property transactions. this opens you up to home state fees as well as taxes, which may offset any savings you anticipate from being domiciled in NV.
Also note that members/managers are now part of NV public record, seriously eroding any privacy expectations you may anticipate from being domiciled in NV.
My opinion is that NV protections are overstated and overrated.
